What is an Estate Sale?
An estate sale or estate liquidation is a type of garage sale, yard sale or auction to dispose of a substantial portion of the materials owned by a person who is recently deceased, or who must dispose of his personal property to facilitate a move.
Estate Sales Event open to the public?
The public is invited into the home and given the opportunity to purchase any items that are priced for sale.
Why 2 Days?
Some companies will offer to do a sale in one day to create a sense of urgency for the buyers. While this is true, it makes it difficult to get the best price. Our experience has shown that 2 days allows us to get the best price for current conditions and to sell the most items. We never forget our goal of getting the most for our clients.
Does sales tax apply?
Yes. Effective January 2010 State of Florida requires all estate sales to be charged sales tax. Estate Sales of Southwest Florida, Inc. will collect and pay sales tax for our clients.
What does Estate Sales of Southwest Florida, Inc. do about clean-up after a sale?
Disposal of items that are left are generally garage sale items or items that have no desirability. We dispose those items or donate the items to charity. Estate Sales of Southwest Florida, Inc. will leave the premises broom clean. We dispose of any ordinary household trash at no additional cost to you, provided that you maintain your trash service. We will not dispose of any chemicals, paints, hazard waste or hazardous materials. Disposal of unsold items and complete clean out are optional. If you rather dispose items or arrange your own private charity, please discuss with owner prior to contract being signed.
Does Estate Sales of Southwest Florida, Inc. provide incentives for referral of business?
We do not pay referral fees. We want people to refer us based solely upon the quality of work we do. We appreciate referrals from people who are aware of the quality of work we do and our strict adherence to professional standards and codes of ethics. Our commitment to every person who refers business to us is that we will do a quality job that will make them proud that they recommended us. We believe that there is no better way to demonstrate our appreciation for referrals.
What do I have to do to help Estate Sales of Southwest Florida, Inc. make sale successful?
We ask that you remove any item(s) from the property you do not want to sell, if possible. Other than that, you do not have to do anything other than tell us what you want to sell, and accept our check for final settlement. We do all the work and we handle all the details.
